Recently, Anhui Mining Machinery conducted a trial run of an AI-powered video monitoring platform in its structural‑parts workshop, seamlessly integrating 5G‑based MEC edge computing with advanced AI algorithms. This integration embeds intelligent safety management directly into the production floor, driving a shift in workplace safety oversight from human‑centric measures to a hybrid approach that combines technological safeguards with smart, data‑driven prevention.
The platform integrates existing comprehensive security systems and deploys specialized anti‑shake cameras in key areas such as overhead cranes, focusing on high‑frequency safety risk scenarios like proper personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance and compliant lifting operations. It delivers core functionalities including video‑based safety monitoring, human‑behavior recognition and analysis, and real-time alert notifications. For the first time, the project leverages a one‑to‑many bridge combined with 5G aggregation technology, significantly boosting data transmission rates for crane‑monitoring systems and providing a robust network foundation for AI‑driven real‑time analytics.
During the exploration phase, the company conducted requirement analysis, solution discussions, and model fine-tuning based on real-world production scenarios, completing tasks such as data collection, sample annotation, and algorithm optimization, thereby enabling the intelligent safety‑monitoring algorithm to achieve full coverage of key safety‑control scenarios in the workshop.
Going forward, Anhui Mining Machinery will continue to deepen the integration of AI technologies with its production and operations, accelerating the comprehensive deployment of “AI + Office,” “AI + Production,” “AI + Safety,” and “AI + Operations.” The company will further refine its intelligent safety‑alerting and regulatory system, leveraging digital and smart solutions to strengthen the foundation for safe production and help establish a province‑wide R&D and manufacturing hub for intelligent coal‑mining equipment.
